Nia Long is an American actress best known for her work in Black cinema.

She rose to prominence after starring in the film Boyz n the Hood in 1991 and for her portrayal of Beulah “Lisa” Wilkes on the NBC sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air from 1991 to 1995.

Nia has also appeared in films such as Friday, Love Jones, Soul Food, The Best Man, and its sequel The Best Man Holiday, Big Momma’s House, and its sequel Big Momma’s House 2.

On television, she has portrayed Sasha Monroe on the crime drama series Third Watch and has starred in the Fox drama series Empire and the CBS action series NCIS: Los Angeles.

Long has received several accolades, including two NAACP Image Awards and a Black Reel Award.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York City and raised in Iowa City, Iowa and South Los Angeles.

Meet Nia Long Husband Coach Ime Udoka

Coach Ime Udoka is a retired professional basketball player and current assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs.

He played for several teams during his career, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trail Blazers, and San Antonio Spurs.

After his playing career, Udoka transitioned to coaching and has been an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs since 2012.

Long and Udoka were been in a romantic relationship since 2010. The couple engaged in 2015. Unfortunately, Nia and Ime split in 2022.

They had been together for more than a decade and were going strong.

The couple had managed to keep their relationship private and had not been very vocal about their personal life.

Nia Long is the eldest of three siblings; she has a younger brother named Sommore and a younger sister named Somma.

The 52 year old actress was raised in Brooklyn, New York, by her mother, Talita Long, a teacher and her father Doughtry Long, a high school teacher and poet.

 She was raised in a single-parent household with her mother after her parents divorced when she was just two years old.

Despite the challenges of growing up without a Father figure, Nia had a strong sense of family and community.

Growing up, Black cinema star was a big part of her siblings’ lives, and they were very close.

She has spoken about how important her family was and how they were always there to support her throughout her career.

Nia is a mother to a son named Massai Zhivago Dorsey II and a stepmother to her partner Ime Udoka’s son, Nicholaus.
