Scott’s requests for a new trial have been denied. Scott had told the police that he last saw Laci when she left home to walk their dog while he left to go fishing in nearby Berkeley Marina.

During pretrial proceedings, Amy Rocha, Laci’s sister, testified that Laci thought highly of Scott.

Laci was eight months pregnant at the time of her disappearance, and the couple had already named their son Conner.

Her family has been pursuing justice ever since.

Is Her Husband Innocent Or Guilty

Scott Peterson was found guilty of murdering his pregnant wife, Laci, and their unborn son, Conner, in 2005.

In August 2022, Peterson’s attorneys argued for a retrial due to the potential bias of juror Richelle Nice who had lied in her questionnaire to get on the jury.

They pointed to evidence that Nice had failed to share during jury selection.

They said she contradicted herself in multiple statements and changed her answers to specific questions regarding her experiences and feelings.

However, the prosecution argued that Nice was a single mom who had never been on a jury before this trial and did the best that she could.

Furthermore, there was other compelling evidence against Peterson, such as his inability to explain his whereabouts on the day Laci disappeared and his suspicious behavior afterward.

Therefore, given the totality of the evidence against Peterson, including Nice’s inconsistencies, it is more likely that Peterson is guilty of the crime for which he was convicted.
