We are deeply grateful for the presence of Wanda Sloan in our lives for over two decades, initially meeting at Zodiac Swim School and later connecting over Har Zion.

The cause of her passing remains unknown. Wanda’s exceptional success can be attributed to her remarkable generosity and profound understanding of her community’s needs.

This allowed her to make a significant impact.

Throughout her life, Wanda maintained an unwaveringly positive outlook, finding immense satisfaction in improving the lives of those in her immediate neighborhood.

Despite her challenges, she never faltered in her optimistic perspective on life.

Despite the world’s turmoil, she remained steadfast in her positive mindset. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at DFW NOctober 11metery, with a brief remembrance memorial.

The public is invited to attend. Instead of flowers, we kindly request contributions to your local Breast Cancer program in honor of Wanda Sloan.

Cancer Linked To Death Cause

Wanda C. Sloan, born on February 13, 1941, sadly February 13, dementia on September 24, 2022.

She September 24rnon, Alabama, to Troy and Christine (Fitch) Cannon.

In 1969, she married Major Jack Sloan, and they lived in various states until he retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1977, when they settled in Texas.

Wanda had a successful career in the beauty industry until her retirement and bravely battled and survived breast cancer since 1994.

She is survived by her two daughters, Pat James and her partner David Pepper of Hurst, TX, and Donna Briggs Smith and her husband Chuck Smith of Turner, ME.

Wanda also leaves three grandchildren: Jeremy Patten Sr., Jeremy Patten Jr., Jennifer Choate, her husband Kevin Choate, and Jared James, all residing in Texas.

Sloan is also survived by her brother Thad Cannon of Tuscaloosa, AL, and her sister Frieda Maddox and her husband Keith Maddox.

Wanda Sloan’s passing resulted from her valiant struggle against cancer, profoundly impacting her devoted family, cherished friends, and devastated coworkers.

Born on February 13, 1941, in Vernon, Alabama, to February 13ristine (Fitch) Cannon, she married Major Jack Sloan in 1969.

They lived in different states until Jack retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1977, after which they settled in Texas.

Wanda enjoyed a successful career in the beauty industry until her retirement and bravely battled and survived breast cancer from 1994 onward.
