Tay R. Waltenbaugh, 69, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 17, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 9, 1954, in Fort Benning, Georgia, Tay was the son of D. Roebling and Edith Waltenbaugh. He had a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and sociology from Juniata College.
Tay dedicated nearly three decades to his role as Chief Executive Officer at Westmoreland Community Action.
Under his leadership, the organization experienced substantial growth in funding, services, and staff. He also played a pivotal role in founding Westmoreland Human Services, Inc.
Tay was a tireless advocate for lifting people out of poverty and received recognition from organizations like the Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Greensburg/Jeannette NAACP, Seton Hill University, and Pennsylvania Business Central.
He was a devoted family man who loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and tending to his property.
