At the age of seven, Braden’s interest in baseball began when he saw his neighbor playing in a coach-pitch league. His mother, Gretchen, bought him an affordable bat and glove from Walmart to get started.

Despite being small in size, Braden enjoyed playing baseball more than football, which he had also participated in until the eighth grade.

To help Braden improve, his parents enlisted the help of personal trainer Gregory “G-Force” Shelton when he was 13 years old. Braden worked diligently with Shelton, focusing on building strength, increasing bat speed, and improving pitching velocity.

Braden’s stepfather, Rich, provided additional support by having lunch with him daily and engaging in long toss sessions to strengthen his arm.

During his high school years, Braden attended Germantown as a freshman and sophomore before transferring to Madison Central as a junior. Braden has around 20 family members and friends supporting him in Omaha as he competes.
