Shraddha Walker was a young woman who stayed in Vasai, Palghar District, Maharashtra, with her family till 2018.
Her mother and brother were her only family members. Shraddha attended a convent school in Vasai before enrolling in a BMM program at Virar’s Viva Institute of Technology.
She did, however, eventually drop out of the course. Her father, Vikas Walkar, had an electronics repair company but lived apart from the rest of the family.
Shraddha married Aaftab Amin Poonawala, whom she met on the dating app Bumble while working at a contact center in Malad in 2019.
Aaftab also resided in Vasai and attended L.S. Raheja College for BMM.
On the other hand, Shraddha’s family opposed the interfaith connection and the notion of her living with someone she hardly knew.
According to friends and relatives, Aaftab had physically beaten Shraddha several times before her murder.

Shraddha Walkar’s father is Vikas Walkar. He lived apart from his wife and children and ran an electronics repair shop.
It’s unknown whether he was involved in his daughter’s life after she married Aaftab Amin Poonawala.
Shraddha’s mother, Harshala Walker, resided with Shraddha and her kid till 2018.
It is unknown why Harshala did not accompany Shraddha and her brother when they moved out of the family home in 2018.
Shraddha Walkar parents reportedly opposed Shraddha’s connection with Aaftab, who was of a different faith, and her choice to move in with him.
It is unknown if they knew of Shraddha’s alleged maltreatment at the hands of Aaftab.
One of the reasons Shraddha opted to move out and live with Aaftab was her family’s objection to the relationship.

Shraddha Walkar has one brother, Sanket Walkar, who was her younger brother.

Whether Shraddha was close to or had a good connection with her sibling is unknown.

Shraddha Walkar Murder Case
The murder of Shraddha Walkar was a terrible occurrence that occurred in Mumbai, India, in February 2022.
Her body was discovered in her Kandivali flat, and her lover, Aaftab Amin Poonawala, was arrested for her death.
Poonawala had physically mistreated Walkar frequently before her death, according to the police inquiry, and there had been several incidences of violence against her.

The pair had been living together for over three years, but Walkar’s family was opposed owing to religious issues.
