Recently, he was again falsely accused as a mass shooter in the 2023 Covenant School shooting under the pseudonym of Samantha Hyde.

In reality, police identified 28-year-old Audrey Elizabeth Hale as the shooter at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, on March 27.
Internet trolls adopted a well-worn hoax that follows many mass shootings and accused Sam Hyde of the incident.
Since 2015, false claims are spread that a comedian named Sam Hyde is the suspect in the immediate aftermath of a mass shooting through these hoax memes.
