His grandfather, Fernand Grosjean, also succeeded as a skier and won a silver medal in giant slalom at the 1950 World Ski Championship in Aspen.

Grosjean married Marion Jollès, a French Journalist and television presenter, in Chamonix on June 27, 2012.

They have been together since 2008 and have three children. Their first son, Sacha, was born on July 29, 2013. They welcomed their second child, Simon, on May 16, 2015, and their daughter, Camille, on December 31, 2017.

As Grosjean committed to racing full-time in the IndyCar series with Andretti Autosport, he and his family decided to relocate to Miami due to the availability of French-language schools and convenient direct flights between Miami and Paris.
