Melissa stated in the caption that she was bitten two days prior by an unidentified “flying insect.”

 Her arm started to swell, causing her doctor and husband, Timothy Busfield, to advise her to head to the ER immediately.

Cellulitis, often known as a staph infection, is a potentially lethal skin illness caused when bacteria enter a lesion and deeply infiltrate the skin, according to the American Academy of Dermatology.

I was given the diagnosis of cellulitis and an abscess following numerous tests. Benedryl, acetaminophen, and clindamycin were given by IV.

It began to get better right away. Nonetheless kept me awake all night. I’ve started taking oral ibuprofen, Benedryl, and antibiotics today.

The 59-year-old advised her followers to watch out for insect stings. “Lesson learned: treat insect bites seriously!

Don’t put off getting treated because you think it’s just a tiny bite if it starts to swell up severely (my entire upper arm was swelled!).

How much worse can things get? Visit your doctor, the ER, or urgent care.

Thankfully, the technique caused her condition to improve quickly. Gilbert was uncomfortable all night long before things started to feel better.
