He married Connie Lynn in 1993, and they lived in Newport, Michigan, with their pets, Charlie and Bella. Matt enjoyed fishing, hunting, music, and entertaining his family and friends.
Private services were held due to social gathering restrictions, and a public celebration of his life and faith in Jesus Christ is planned for the future at the Church of the Lord Our Righteousness in Monroe, Michigan.
