Young, Famous & African Khanyi Mbau Parents, Lynette Sisi Mbau and Menzi Mcunu, were unmarried when she was born.

Khanyisile Mbau is a well-known South African actress, musician, television host, and socialite.

She rose to popularity in 2004 and 2005 for her part as the second Doobsie in the hit SABC 2 soap series Muvhango.

She also starred in the SABC 1 mini-series After Nine and gained fame as Mbali in the soap opera Mzansi.

On October 15, 1985, Khanyi Mbau was born to unmarried parents, Lynette Sisi Mbau and Menzi Mcunu.

Choosing to retain her mother’s last name, she was given the name Khanyisile, which means “one who brings light.”

Lynette, Khanyi’s mother, was a finance officer for Barclays Bank’s pension fund division.

Khanyi has consistently expressed her love and admiration for her mother, acknowledging her influence on how she lived.

Sadly, nothing is known about Khanyi’s paternal grandparents, which suggests she had little interaction with them.

Nevertheless, Gladys, her maternal grandmother, significantly influenced her upbringing. Gladys is often referred to by Khanyi as the “Queen of England” because of her capacity to maintain an orderly and structured home.

Khanyi’s mother returned to work after she was born, leaving her in the custody of her grandparents in Mofolo, Soweto. Khanyi was mainly guided by her grandma while growing up on her grandparents’ farm.

Khanyi affectionately referred to Gladys as the “Queen of England” due to her strict devotion to the law and meticulous attention to detail when running her household.

Khanyi’s upbringing was affected by her close relationship with her maternal grandmother, who was influential in her early years, despite the scant information about her paternal grandparents.

On her father’s side of the family, Khanyi Mbau has many siblings. Her sister Thandeka Mcunu and brother Lasizwe Dambuza are two of her most recognized siblings.

Lasizwe is a well-known YouTuber, actor, and television personality who has become well-liked in South Africa. He is renowned for his amusing and exciting writing.

Thandeka, on the other hand, is a TV personality and a wealthy businesswoman.

They are very close, and they have even been together on Khanyi’s BET reality series, “Mbau Reloaded: Always Rise.”

Khanyi and her siblings, Lungile, Mbali, and Siphiwe, gathered for a holiday in Cape Town in one episode titled “A Family Affair,” demonstrating their close familial bond.

Furthermore, Khanyi has two younger siblings.

Thulasizwe Siphiwe Dambuza, her brother, is well-known for being a popular YouTuber, actor, media personality, and social media influencer. He is the child of Menzi Mcunu and Lindiwe Dambuza.

Thandeka Mcunu, Khanyi’s sister, is well-known for being a famous businesswoman and TV personality.

Khanyi Mbau Family And Relationship

Khanyi Mbau has important relationships in her personal life, even if she is not married.

Khanyi gave birth to her daughter, Khanukani, on December 24, 2006, during her marriage to Mandla Mthembu.

As of 2022, Khanukani will be 16 years old. She resembles her mother remarkably and resides in a separate apartment near Khanyi’s home.

Khanyi takes pride in being a progressive mom who promotes freedom in her daughter by letting her make her own decisions.

Currently, Kudzai Mushonga, a young millionaire from Zimbabwe, and Khanyi Mbau are seriously dating. The couple has been setting objectives for their relationship for over a year.

Even their bodies are tattooed with their names. Fans want to see their relationship develop further, even if it is unclear if marriage is in their future.

In the past, Khanyi Mbau married Mandla Mthembu, who was much older than she was. Their union was widely reported.

When Khanyi was 20 years old and four months pregnant with their daughter, they got married. The pair separated, however, in 2009.

Then, in early 2010, Khanyi had a brief romance with married millionaire Theunis Cronus, who was 51.

Later, she established a committed relationship with singer Tebogo Lerole that lasted almost seven years and started in 2011. Khanyi announced their breakup on social media in January 2018.
