Kate was diagnosed with cancer, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, which turned her world upside down.
Her final scan, however, revealed that cancer had been eliminated.
Kate said, “To use a really terrible weather analogy, I feel like I’ve been in a tornado.”
Kate had undergone chemotherapy treatment within two weeks of being diagnosed.
She said, “I am so grateful to the NHS but also, in particular, to the hematology unit at Torbay Hospital,”
“They were so on it;and I was stage 4, I needed treatment very quickly, and they gave me the best care and support possible.”
While Kate has received the happy news that her cancer has been removed, she will need additional time to heal correctly.
She also said: “One of the scariest things about cancer is how vulnerable it makes you, and for a complete confessed control freak, that has been the hardest bit.
She added that fact that she couldn’t do things with her kids, couldn’t go to work, couldn’t do things around the house, she had to be looked after was just terrifying for her.
