Police said that near the intersection of South Clinton Street and Glenwood Cemetery, they came across a 16-year-old boy who seemed to have been stabbed.
After being stabbed, his heart stopped because of tremendous blood loss.
He was transported in an ambulance to a neighboring hospital, where his status is currently reported as critical.
According to an investigation, the incident began as a disagreement between two teens, but at least two more people got involved as it went on.
Authorities claim that during the altercation, a juvenile who was just 13 years old stabbed another child who was 16 years old in the torso.
Currently, the suspect is being detained and housed at the juvenile detention facility in Madison County.
According to the authorities, the student’s safety was not jeopardized because the incident occurred after school had ended.
There is a possibility that the children involved are not even students at the primary school where the incident occurred. Witnesses allegedly told authorities that the school was randomly picked as the fight’s venue.

Family members said a fight broke out between Kadin, his companion, and two other lads carrying knives.
While Kadin was helping his friend try to pry a weapon out of one of the other boys’ hands, the other boy went and got another knife, and while Kadin was helping his friend, the first boy attacked Kadin from behind.
An artery was sliced by the knife, hurting his heart. He lost a lot of blood, and for the better part of thirty minutes, his heart just stopped beating.
