Mary Genevieve and David Ledecky are Katie Ledecky’s parents. The mother of the American swimmer is Irish by birth and was raised Catholic.

Mary Gen, Katie Ledecky’s mother, was an assistant administrator at Georgetown Hospital.

Several swimmers are in the Ledecky family besides the seven-time Olympic gold medallist.

David Ledecky is an attorney and the father of Katie Ledecky. He graduated from Yale Law with a Juris Doctor and a BA from Harvard University.

Up until 2011, Schoo Ledecky worked at Kirkland & Ellis as a lawyer. He then left the company to devote himself to coaching his daughter, Katie Ledecky, a talented swimmer.

Katie Ledecky’s father is Jewish and of Czech descent. Jaromír Ledecky, the father of David Laedeck, was born in the Czech Republic and went to America to marry Berta Ruth Greenwald, an Ashkenazi Jew.

On the other hand, Ledecky’s mother, Mary Gen, is of Irish ancestry and was raised Catholic.
