The U.S. Attorney, Damian Williams, stated that Cartagena dealt the fatal dose that killed Michael K. Williams in broad daylight, feeding addiction and causing the tragedy.

Cartagena faces a mandatory minimum prison sentence of five years and could receive up to 40 years behind bars.

The police found a paper bag with the AAA logo and a mixture of heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, lidocaine, and caffeine in Williams’ apartment.

The complaint alleges that despite knowing about Williams’ death, Cartagena and his drug trafficking organization continued to sell fentanyl-laced heroin.
