Heidi Firkus Murder Update 2023

Nick Firkus, was sentenced to life in prison without parole on April 2023 for murdering his first wife, Heidi Firkus, 13 years ago.

The judge heard from several of Heidi Firkus’ friends and family members at the hearing, who gave emotional victim statements.

In April 2010, Heidi Firkus called 911 saying there was a break-in at the couple’s home and stopped talking after a gunshot went off.

Police found her dead, and her husband wounded in the leg from a gunshot.

Nick Firkus told investigators that he fought over a shotgun with the intruder and that it went off, hitting both him and his wife.

However, investigators were still looking into Nick Firkus’ role in his wife’s death, especially since there were discrepancies in his story.

He was arrested in May 2021 and charged with first- and second-degree murder.

Prosecutors said that Nick Firkus killed his wife to hide from the shame of their financial troubles.

A jury convicted him on both charges on Feb. 10.

Where Is Murderer Husband Nicholas Firkus?

Nicholas Firkus is currently serving a life sentence in prison for the murder of his wife, Heidi Firkus, more than a decade ago.

As for Nicholas himself, he expressed in court that his “mind is tormented by traumas, both new and old and my body stands condemned to serve another man’s sentence,” but his “soul remains free of the guilt this imperfect world has bestowed upon me.”
