In 2010, Tomac started a professional racing career and won his first race as a rookie. Midway through the 2013 Supercross season, he made his 450cc debut. In 2014, he switched to the class full-time.

At the 2014 Spring Creek National in Millville, Minnesota, he won his first 450cc outdoor race. In 2015, he won his first 450cc Supercross race at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

Since the 2016 racing season, Tomac has been a Kawasaki factory racing team member. For the 2022 season, he joined Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing.

Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing Eli Tomac lost control of the vehicle during the opening lap of qualifying and got into an accident.

The championship Leader and defending champion hobbled back to the pits, which was problematic for his title chances.

Eli was in the lead during round 16 in Denver when he made a mistake in the rhythm part and had to leave the track.

For the 2017 AMA Motocross Championship, Tomac took the opening round. Tomac won four season-long overall championships and landed on the podium in 7 of the 12 races.

With 470 total points, he would go on to win the 2017 Motocross Championship. Marvin Musquin took second place overall with 453 points, followed by Blake Baggett in third with 451.

Eli Tomac broke his Achilles tendon after a heavy landing in the rhythm section three minutes into the Denver Monster Energy Supercross event, ending his chances of winning a second straight championship.

After the next straight, Tomac rode slowly because he was in too much pain to keep going. With his left foot up, Tomac rode straight to the tunnel and into the Alpinestars Medical trailer.

At the time of the incident, Tomac was in the lead in front of a crowd in his hometown. He could win the title if he won, and Chase Sexton finished worse than sixth. He started the race 18 points ahead of Sexton. Sexton missed that benchmark for the first few minutes.

Tomac began his evening with caution. He and Sexton were battling it out for first place in their respective heat, and when Sexton gained the lead, Tomac opted to play it safe and followed Sexton to the finish line.

Tomac had a chance to win the race in the feature. He took the lead after the first lap, starting third and racing through the whoops. When Tomac was injured, he was edging away from the field.

Since the 2016 racing season, Tomac has been a Kawasaki factory racing team member. For the 2023 season, he joined Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing.

After winning the 450cc AMA Supercross and AMA Motocross championships in 2022, Eli again agreed to serve as the team captain in the MXGP division.

The event, like in 2018, was held at Red Bud MX in Buchanan, Michigan. It began with a déjà vu feeling as the track was soggy and muddy from the previous night’s heavy rain.

Eli set the tone for Team USA by winning the overall Moto 1 race, with Justin Cooper, his MX2 teammate, finishing ninth.

Team USA is in control of the overall victory thanks to Chase Sexton’s second-place performance in Moto 2 and Justin Cooper’s fourth-place finish.

He was chosen for the MX2 seat after winning the Outdoor Motocross 250cc title in 2013. The race was held in Teutschenthal, Germany.

He crashed in the first Moto, which caused him to place 16th overall. Eli finished second in Moto 2 after a drawn-out battle with Ken Roczen throughout the race. Team USA came in second place overall.
