Meagan Good Has A Kid With Her Husband DeVon Franklin? Parents And Ethnicity

Meagan Good, the American actress and DeVon Franklin, the spiritual advisor and producer, have been married since 2012 .

Meagan Good (born on August 8, 1981) is African-American while DeVon Franklin is African-American, Jewish, and Cherokee.

Meagan Good is a well-known American actress who initially gained recognition for her performance in the film “Eve’s Bayou” (1997).

She went on to play the character Nina in the Nickelodeon sitcom “Cousin Skeeter” (1998-2001).

Good’s career reached new heights following her roles in movies such as “Deliver Us from Eva” (2003), “Roll Bounce” (2005), and “Stomp the Yard” (2007).

The couple had to deal with the complexities of getting married when it came to their different countries and cultures.

Good opened up about her parents’ initial thoughts about Franklin: “My mom was like ‘you know—we’re Black, and you know he’s multi-cultural'”.

Franklin and Good did not let the various ethnicities get in their way.

They decided to devote their relationship to God by taking the vow to have faith, trust and be obedient to each other.

But, They got Divorced with each other after nine years of being together.

Meagan good  mother, Tyra Wardlow-Doyle, served as her manager and her father, Leondis “Leon” Good, is a police officer with the LAPD.

Meagan has stated that her grandmother on her mother’s side was Jewish and African, while her maternal grandfather was Cherokee and something else.

On her father’s side, her grandmother was Puerto Rican and black, and her grandfather was from Barbados.

Good grew up in Santa Clarita, California (previously known as Canyon Country) with three siblings, including actress La’Myia Good.

Devon Franklin Is very secretive when it comes to his family .

We don’t have any information regarding his parents.

But franklin once posted about his aunties on his Instagram and wished them on  their birthday.

Though the couple was together prior to having a child, they still had to face the difficulties of being married and parenting in a multi-ethnic family.

Sharing how they’ve made it work, Franklin spoke on the challenges: “It’s definitely a challenge but it’s also been a blessing because we get to see the different cultural influences in our daughter”.

The couple faced some challenges but leaned on each other to get through the struggle.

Good acknowledged how the communication between them has played a huge role: “I think one of the most important things for us both is communication… We talk about everything.

With this blended family, the couple have been able to share different cultures and practices from both sides.

How Did This Couple Moved Through Challenges as Partners?

For Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin, leaving their parents’ concerns had to come second to loving each other. The couple have been able to move through the different challenges they faced while building an interracial family.

Good commented on her purpose for sharing her story: “I want people to know that this is possible and that you can come from different places and still find love and peace”.

Franklin added: “We want people to know that regardless of your race or culture, if you truly love someone you can make it work”.

Good said she has adopted the idea of “classical parenting”, which combines rules, discipline and respect.

While Good and Franklin have created balance in their own family, the couple have also worked to advocate for interracial marriages in society.

In all their work, including DeVon’s book ‘The Wait’, the couple actively strive to encourage people not to fear interracial relationships and marriage.

Good and Franklin also intersect their individual successes with their family commitment. This year, Good was inducted into the Black Women Film Network (BWFN) Hall of Fame.

She accepted the award for using her platform to inspire and uplift women.

Franklin has also been successful in his career, having recently signed a multiyear development deal with Netflix.

It’s Heart breaking that they couldn’t save their marriage but we hope they do good in their lives.
