Meet Journalist Jeremy Vine Parents

He is the older child of Guy Vine (1937-2018), a lecturer in civil engineering at North East Surrey College of Technology, and Diana (née Tillett), a former housewife who later worked as a doctor’s receptionist.

The journalist claimed that my parents are kind, generous, and lacking in ostentation. My parents used money Mum received as a legacy from her successful businessman father to buy a house and send their kids to private school.

I grew up in Cheam with my comic brother Tim, two years younger than me, and my artist/actor sister Sonya, five years younger. My parents had strong morals and feared the world outside of Cheam.

That was very common back then. The message was always the same: “Do whatever you want, and we’ll support you.” A strong message to convey to a child.
