Award-winning South African actor Zolisa Xaluva has charmed audiences around the world with his performances, leaving fans wondering

Born on 13 June 1981 in New Brighton, Port Elizabeth Eastern Cape, Zolisa is the third of four children of Thando and Nombuyiselo Xaluva.

In March 2019, Zolisa Xaluva was awarded Best Supporting Actor in the feature film Sew the Winter to My Skin, which also snagged the Best Feature Film award.

Challenges Of Finding True Love In The Spotlight For Zolisa

When recently asked about his romantic prospects during a podcast with MacG, the Kings of Joburg star commented,

‘I’m a lover. I like to love and give all of myself to somebody. Unfortunately, I haven’t been dating for six to seven months.’

The actor further hinted that he might not be looking to jump into a new relationship soon.

‘I’m not in that space where I’m even looking…It helps when you’re not looking as well when you’re just chilling and doing your thing,’ said Zolisa Xaluva.

The actor believes that his fame may make it harder for him to find true love. ‘Between the ages of 17 to 25, I dated one girl.

I started acting at 22, so she wasn’t used to that, and that’s part of the reason we couldn’t be together.

Now it’s going to be an uphill battle because everybody knows who I am and what I do,’ Zolisa explained.

The Generations actor remains single and hopes to find genuine love one day.

From Financial Struggles To Success: The Journey Of Zolisa Xaluva

After matriculating, he studied Media Studies and Communication Science at Technikon Witwatersrand for a few years before dropping out due to financial issues.

To help make ends meet, he joined an arts and culture group which toured around performing plays for school children.

Returning to Pretoria, Zolisa studied drama at Technikon Pretoria and graduated in 2003.

Subsequently, he featured in several popular productions, including SABC 1’s sopaie drama Generations and the Mzansi Magic drama series Gomora.

Eventually, giving a boost to his acting career.

Zolisa Xaluva: Love And Understanding

When it comes to love, Zolisa Xaluva describes himself as a hopeless romantic. He believes in true love and puts effort into making relationships work.

The actor is open to understanding different ways of expressing love based on cultures and upbringings. “I know love comes in many forms, and so I try to understand each person’s way of being romantic,” he said.;

Despite being single, Zolisa Xaluva still appreciates the importance of relationships.

During an interview with Sunday World, the actor stressed the importance of companionship on mental health.

According to Zolisa, having someone to share your thoughts and feelings with is important for personal growth and happiness.

Xaluva: Living On Own Terms

Zolisa is also dedicated to living life by his own rules and standards. The Kings of Jo’burg’s star believes in forging his own path without pressure.

“I don’t want somebody pressuring me to look or act a certain way,” he said.

With this attitude, he hopes to lead a fulfilling life–with or without someone else.

Zolisa Xaluva also remains devoted to acting. A few months ago, he reprised his role as Art Nyakama in the South African movie Knuckle City.

Further, his new Netflix TV show “Kings of Jo’Burg” premiered on January 27, 2023.

Despite this, he still hopes to find someone who can accept him for who he is. “I’m looking for a connection. Someone who isn’t intimidated by my success or fame,” he said.

At the end of the day, the South African actor wants to be with someone who can understand his love for art and creativity.

“I want an artist’s companion who will love and appreciate what I do,” he said.

Until then, Zolisa Xaluva will remain focused on his career and enjoy life to the fullest.
