Knasir Douglas’ family’s basketball legacy extends beyond his immediate family, as his grandfather, Charles’ Skip’ McDaniel, played at Niagara University.

His uncle Eddie Jordan also played for the Los Angeles Lakers and coached for the Washington Wizards.

McDaniel’s talent has not gone unnoticed by USA Basketball, as he has participated in several of their minicamps, including the 2019 USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team October minicamp, the 2019 USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team July minicamp, and the 2019 USA U16 National Team training camp.

McDaniel’s high school career has been equally impressive, earning several honors, such as the MaxPreps Freshman All-America second team, the Washington Post All-Met third team, and the Northern Virginia All-Freshman Team.

He attended Paul VI Catholic High School in Virginia, where he helped lead the team to a 27-9 record and a runner-up finish in the 2019 Alhambra Tournament, averaging 10.9 ppg, 2.6 RPG, 5.2 APG and 1.8 spg.
