Leticia Martinez Cosman Murder Update: Brett Gitchel Arrest Charges And Verdict

Leticia Martinez Cosman Murder has shocked the community as prosecutors charged Brett Gitchel with her Murder and other related crimes.

Leticia Martinez Cosman, 58, was found murdered in Renton, Washington, after attending a Seattle Mariners game with a man she met at Costco.

The King County Medical Examiner confirmed her identity and determined the cause of death as strangulation.

Her son, Patrick Cosman, was allegedly assaulted and almost kidnapped by the same man, Bretth Michael Gitchel, who has been charged with Attempted Murder in the first degree and other charges.

The King County Prosecutor’s Office plans to amend Gitchel’s charges to include a count of second-degree Murder.

The family of Ms. Martinez Cosman has set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses, legal costs, and ongoing care for Patrick.

Leticia Martinez Cosman Murder Update

In the latest update on the murder case of Leticia Martinez Cosman, Detectives found a body believed to be connected to Martinez’s disappearance in a wooded area between Talbot Rd. and State Route 167 in Renton, not far from where her son Patrick Cosman was found earlier.

Court documents revealed that Gitchel was the last person seen with Martinez and that he had driven her vehicle to a remote area, kidnapped and attempted to kill her son, and burned Martinez’s vehicle.

Her son escaped during the kidnapping attempt and identified Gitchel as the assailant, noting bite marks on Gitchel’s hands.

Surveillance footage also showed Gitchel purchasing a gas container and lighter around the same time Martinez’s burned car was discovered.

Police have not yet confirmed the identity of the body found, but the evidence suggests a connection to Martinez’s disappearance.

The case unfolds as investigators gather more evidence in this tragic and disturbing case.

Brett Gitchel Arrest and Charges

Brett Gitchel, 46, has been arrested and charged with the Murder of Leticia Martinez Cosman, a Seattle woman who went missing after attending a Mariners game on March 31.

Gitchel has been charged with Attempted Murder in the First Degree and Kidnapping in the First Degree, involving Martinez Cosman’s son, Patrick Cosman, who has special needs.

He has also been charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the Second Degree, Theft in the First Degree, and Arson in the Second Degree related to Martinez Cosman’s Honda CRV, which was found burned.

Gitchel’s bail has been set at $5 million by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

In addition to the charges related to Martinez Cosman’s Murder, Gitchel was charged with Burglary in the Second Degree for a separate incident in West Seattle on March 28.

Gitchel remains in the King County Jail, and his next court appearance is scheduled for April 24.

Brett Gitchel Final Verdict
