One woman’s insurer refuses to pay her medical fees. While on vacation in Thailand, she tragically chose to unwind with a few Long Island Ice Teas. As a result, she remains in “a vegetative state” in the hospital.

The Enwright family of Singleton, New South Wales, was surprised to learn that their travel insurance was void since their insurer claimed that his partner had consumed too much alcohol before the fall, leaving them with $250,000 in medical costs.

The family of Ms. Enwright is currently seeking assistance from other Australians.

When tragedy struck Khao Lak on May 28, Kylee Enwright and her husband were on their second vacation day.

Mr. Enwright freely admitted that they had enjoyed a few drinks at their resort’s poolside bar on a wet day.

She may have had a blood alcohol level of 0.35, according to the insurer’s investigators, who reviewed CCTV footage and the couple’s bar tab, which showed nine Long Island iced teas ordered to their room number.

While waiting 15 minutes for emergency personnel to arrive, a hotel visitor gave Kylee first aid.

In essence, she was bleeding from the ears and skull. According to what I’ve heard, her head impacted the ground forcefully,’ Mr. Enwright added.

She was brought to a local hospital before being transported by air to a larger facility in Phuket. Mr. Enwright was informed that he would be responsible for paying in full for necessary brain surgery.

When Kylee Enwright was on vacation in Thailand, she fell half a meter and hit her face, suffering a severe brain injury.

The procedure was completed, and a few days later, doctors tried to awaken Ms. Enwright from her coma, but she had not done so.

Ms. Enwright still needs to be fully aware eleven days after the accident.

She had indeed suffered a serious brain injury.

Mrs. Enwright was rendered comatose until Thursday after having the left side of her skull removed to make room for her brain to expand.

She has only ever briefly opened her eyes, according to Mr. Enwright.

Since then, Kylee’s medical expenses have soared above $50,000, with $5,000 more every day.

Even worse, the couple’s trip insurance has stated that it will not pay for expenses because of an alcohol restriction provision that the Enwrights were unaware of.

Staff members demanded more than $20,000 once Kylee was transferred to a better hospital, but the surgery went through after Mr. Enwright could cobble together almost $13,000.

The couple’s three adult children have all gone to Thailand to be with their mother while they search for a means to bring her back to Australia.

Like most Australians, we purchased travel insurance at the level of protection we believed would be sufficient.

We believed we had followed all the correct steps,’ Mr. Enwright added.

For her to receive the finest care possible through the Australian healthcare system, Enwright added, “We need to get her back to Australia.”
