LaVerna and Eep were married for 35 years, and they had two sons, Jason A. Batista and Jose A. Batista Jr., who survived Eep and his four grandchildren.
Eep was born in Manati, Puerto Rico, on December 23, 1942, to Carmen Laureano Larregui and the late José Batista.
He relocated to the United States when he was 18 and worked for Blas Manufacturing of Stratford for 12 years before retiring.
Eep served as a Deacon, Trustee, and Sexton at Wildermere Beach Congregational Church while working for Acme United Corporation for 34 years.
Eep’s love for his family, friends, and religion was unparalleled, and he was always willing to help anyone who needed it.
