Dragons Den Star Died From a Mixed Drug Overdose

Entrepreneur Drew Cockton, who recently appeared on the BBC series Dragons’ Den, died from a mixed drug overdose, a post-mortem revealed.

The 36-year-old was found at his home in Wirral, Merseyside, in October 2022, with several glasses containing gin and tonic around him.

A handwritten note was also found at the scene, believed to have been written by Cockton earlier due to the high levels of alcohol in his system.

The coroner, at his inquest, concluded that Cockton’s death was accidental and resulted from taking a combination of prescription painkillers and antipsychotic drugs.

The medication he took was too high for it to be an accidental overdose, and he was highly intoxicated on the morning of his death, meaning he could not form deadly intent.
