According to The Athletic, David Savard, the NHL defenseman, tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Valerie Lachance, in their native Quebec in September 2018.
The newlyweds enjoyed some time away from kids while Valerie placed the winning bid for a fly-fishing trip to Montana at a charity auction right after marriage.
On winning the bid, Savard said it was the first bidding experience for both of them. He further exclaimed it was nice to get away as a couple without their kids.

“Yeah, I kind of like dressing up. I think it makes it fun. I’m a huge fan of Halloween, so as soon as I get the chance to put something together, make it fun. My wife (Valerie) is really into it too. She has lists of costumes we can do one day.”
He further said, “She’s the one doing most of the work every time we go somewhere. At the Cannon Ball, she ordered everything, so she’s doing all the things. Credit to her, obviously, but I think it’s fun. Dubois jumped in too this year when we talked about dressing up, so it was fun.”
The couple was also seen in a youtube video of iDesign where the interior designers Shannon and Kelly were giving a makeover to their home, essentially by managing things.
In the same video posted on April 18, 2020, Valerie looked not less than seven months pregnant. The couple looked happy and cute, involving themselves in managing the house.
